Where are you based?

When Australia re-opened after the pandemic lockdowns, I was off…again.

I travelled a little, and have settled in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Georgia’s primary claim to fame? The first people to turn grapes into wine!

Where are you from?

Sydney, Australia is home.

But I’ve lived abroad for most of the last 12 years.

From Asia to Latin America, and now Eurasia.

What kind of writer are you?

In short, a copy and content writer.

I write marketing copy for businesses and organisations with ads, landing pages, and social media plans.

Or other pieces like blogs and articles, website content, internal communications and reports to keep them engaged with their clients, community or staff.

Where are your clients and what industries are they in?

With a trusted time zone calculator and strong internet, I work with clients everywhere.

Now, most are based in Australia and the UK.

I’ve worked with clients in the child protection and humanities sectors, for fashion brands, general businesses and the Australian government.

What do you like to write about most?

Our weird Humanness!

We’re so complex and fascinating.

Jump over here for articles on – Community & Culture – led by my life’s experiences:

  • The kids being raised in Mexico’s prisons
  • The on flow effect of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the region’s societies
  • The eerie winter tradition of Georgia’s remote mountain cemeteries
  • My individualist comparison of life in collectivist societies

What’s your favourite thing to do?

To sit with three items – my loaded Kindle, black tea, and a notebook where prose is scribbled and Kooky Characters come to life.

Once a Kooky Character arrives through pen, ink and watercolours, I channel their voice to give them life.

You can meet them here.

People fascinate me and I love to explore what makes them, them.

Using Visual Anthropology as a project base, I discover the meaning behind the objects in their lives.

How they use them. The stories they communicate about them. The emotional attachment, and how culture influences these chosen objects.

I write essays on the findings here.
